We believe every woman has the right to love and embrace themselves, regardless of their shape, size or appearance. Our self-help program comprises of 20 modules and will take you on a journey to develop a deeper understanding and love for yourself, your body and your future. You will be provided with a wealth of education, guidance, support and recovery tips so you can cultivate strong foundational habits to empower you and to help you embrace recovery. The program has been designed so it can also be used in conjunction with your treatment team, allowing you to work on your recovery outside of therapy sessions. Whether you are recovering from an eating disorder, disordered eating, body image issues or just want to learn how to heal your relationship with yourself, this program can support you on that journey.

Who is taking you on this journey?

Eating Disorder Coach

Michelle Southern

Michelle Southern is an Eating Disorder Recovery Coach based on the Gold Coast and works with clients all over Australia. She studied through the Carolyn Costin Institute in the USA and was personally mentored by Carolyn herself who is a renowned clinician, author and speaker in the eating disorder field. Michelle has her own lived experience with anorexia and bulimia, a 12-year battle which stole her teenage years and nearly took her life. Her courage and strength helped her rise from those dark years to recreate and live her dream life which is full of adventure, love and freedom. Michelle’s life mission is to help and inspire women all over the world to live a life free from their eating disorder. To support and nurture women throughout their recovery journey, holding their hands as they face their biggest fears and learn to change their behaviours. Watching her clients transform their lives and become the confident, beautiful, euphoric woman they were born to be has been the biggest highlight of her career.

PhD Candidate, Nutritionist and Eating Disorder Advocate

Jennifer Hamer

Jennifer Hamer is a current PhD candidate at Griffith University in the field of Eating Disorders in athletes. Prior to this she completed her master’s degree in Eating Disorders and Clinical Nutrition. Jennifer’s passion for this area is driven by her own harrowing journey of a 17-year battle with an eating disorder, which robbed her of a career as a professional athlete and almost took her life. Yet Jennifer decided to make the bravest and courageous decision and chose recovery. Jennifer does not see this experience as something to be sad about, she sees it as something to be grateful for because it enlightened her to seek her truth, her purpose, which is to now inspire, educate and provide hope to those who may be suffering from eating disorders, disordered eating or issues around body image. Jennifer is a passionate eating disorder ambassador and advocate, inspiring others to break free from their eating disorder, creating a storm to break down diet culture and to help women see themselves for who they truly are, not what they have been led to believe. Jennifer uses both her personal experience and expertise as an academic to support you on your own journey to recovery.

Michelle & Jen will share their personal experiences throughout the program, opening up about their struggles and successes of their own recovery journeys. Furthermore, they are available for personal 1:1 coaching throughout the course for any guidance or support you may require as you work through the program.

  • When does the program start?

    As soon as you make the purchase you will have access to the content and can start working on the recovery program. It is suggested to work through at a pace that will take approx. 6 weeks however you have lifetime access to the material so you can work through at your own convenience anywhere, anytime and can come back to the course whenever you need to.

  • Is this program for anyone and everyone?

    This course is designed for those who are ready to take that step forward on their journey to recovery. This is a program that is centered around learning to focus solely on healing your relationship with yourselves, food, exercise and your body. The course is for you if: you have a history of disordered eating or an eating disorder, you have a negative relationship with food and exercise, you find yourself trapped in diet culture, obsessing over your body image and want to learn how to embrace all of you for who you are.

  • What if I do not feel ready?

    Quite often we never truly feel ready. Sometimes we have to face the fear head on and take that leap of faith. However, if you start the course and feel you do not want to commit, you have the content for a lifetime so you can come back to it when you feel a little more confident in committing to recovery. You also have the option to reach out for 1:1 support and guidance from Michelle or Jen or the option to contact the leading Eating Disorders Organisations in Australia such as The Inside Out Institute, EndED, The Butterfly Foundation or The NEDC.

  • What happens after I sign up?

    You will receive an email welcoming you to the course and from their you can begin this amazing journey to recovery.

  • Do I need to consult a healthcare practitioner before enrolling?

    If you have a diagnosed eating disorder or you think you may be suffering from an eating disorder, it is important that you talk to your GP as there are many physical complications that can arise from purging, losing weight very quickly or being at an unhealthy low weight. Please seek professional support and speak with your treatment team about whether the course is appropriate for you during this part of your recovery journey.
